Has your favorite show been canceled?
Sun May 12, 2013
In reply to: culheath #49 We have a lot of the same taste in shows, as I watched all of the ones you named, except Supernatural. Body of Proof ended up being too preachy this last season, and Dana Delaney's character lacked any spark or sense of humor. That is why shows like Castle, Grimm, and Bone …
Two high school students lose fingers during tug-of-war
Tue Feb 5, 2013
This exact thing happened to my friend's father. They couldn't re-attach his fingers, as the severing was not a clean enough cut. He had a tough re-hab; working at the computer and golfing became huge challenges. Who knew tug-o-war could be so dangerous?!

Wed Jan 30, 2013
She's a beautiful lady and the hairstyle suits her and Barack just fine. So who cares what Mr. Logger-feeled says?

She is famously defiant to anything the Obama administration sets forth, and is notorious for cutting benefits of all sorts across the board. I have had my own private health insurance since I became an adult. My husband and …

Thu Dec 6, 2012
Often time when a food producer takes out fat they must replace it with sugar. If the consumer reads the nutrition labels, he or she will see that fat free products often have more sugar than their low fat counterparts. Staying healthy requires a great deal of effort! Shopping carefully, cooking car …
Good news about aging: Get older, feel better, study finds
Fri Dec 7, 2012
I am about to turn 51, work in the education field, am physically active, not overweight, am on no medications, and eat a sensible diet. When I wake up at 4:30 am to feed my geriatric dog, my back hurts, my knees hurt, my neck hurts. Once I am up and around I am good to go, but I am in no way happy …
You're not smart enough to read Wikipedia
Thu Dec 6, 2012
I teach at a community college and at a university. I don't accept Wikipedia as a reliable source. I tell my students it is a great "jumping off" point; just the beginning of of the academic dip in the pool. I encourage them to scroll down to the bottom of the Wikipedia article, and click on the wor …
